{"id":185,"date":"2010-04-26T13:21:06","date_gmt":"2010-04-26T17:21:06","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.lallyacoustics.com\/blog\/?p=185"},"modified":"2011-03-10T13:16:08","modified_gmt":"2011-03-10T18:16:08","slug":"keep-this-quiet-wednesday-is-international-noise-awareness-day","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.lallyacoustics.com\/blog\/archives\/185","title":{"rendered":"Keep this quiet: Wednesday is International Noise Awareness Day"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>April 28 is the <a title=\"International Noise Awareness Day\" href=\"http:\/\/www.chchearing.org\/noise-center-home\/international-noise-awareness-day\" target=\"_blank\">15th annual International Noise Awareness Day<\/a>, an event promoting awareness of the dangers of long-term exposure to noise.\u00a0 Founded by the <a title=\"Center for Hearing and Communication\" href=\"http:\/\/www.chchearing.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">Center for Hearing and Communication<\/a> (a not-for-profit organization established in New York in 1910), the event aims to raise awareness of the impacts of noise on day-to-day life worldwide.<\/p>\n<p>As part of the event, the public is encouraged to observe a <a title=\"Recipe for a Quiet Diet\" href=\"http:\/\/www.chchearing.org\/noise-center-home\/international-noise-awareness-day\/recipe-for-quiet-diet\" target=\"_blank\">&#8220;Quiet Diet&#8221;<\/a> &#8212; 60 uninterrupted seconds without noise from 2:15 to 2:16 p.m. this Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>Most New Yorkers are all too familiar with excessive noise and its impacts on hearing, health, stress, and learning.
